Texas Congressman and GOP presidential hopeful Ron Paul will soon be unveiling his plan to cut $1 trillion from the federal budget.  A USA Today article cited information regarding his plan obtained by Politico from the Paul campaign.  Congressman Paul plans to set forth measures which would eliminate the U.S. Departments of “Education, Commerce, Energy, Interior, and Housing and Urban Development.”

Additionally, Congressman Paul proposes eliminating all foreign aid, ending the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and reducing the president’s salary to a little less than $40,000 annually.  Currently, the president’s salary is set at $400,000 annually.
