Bernanke:  3 More Years Until 6% Unemployment

On Wednesday, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke told Congress the nation’s unemployment would likely not reach 6% for another 3 years.

A CNBC article quotes the Fed Chairman telling Congress, “There still seems to be quite a bit of unused resources, people that could be working, capital that could be used and is not being used.  We believe the monetary policies that we’ve conducted have helped get stronger recovery and more jobs than we otherwise would have had.”

In January, the U.S. unemployment rate stood at 7.9%.
