Honorable Mention: Republicans Credit The White House For Producing a Budget

On Meet the press, Senator Graham (R-SC) credits the White House for producing a budget.  “The president is showing a little bit of leg here, this is somewhat encouraging.”  The Senator went on to say, “His overall budget’s not going to make it, but he has sort of made a step forward in the entitlement-reform process that would allow a guy like me to begin to talk about flattening the tax code and generating more revenue.”  Republican Senate leadership gives the President credit for potentially compromising on some social issues.

However, one may liken this situation to simply receiving an honorable mention. Everyone remembers the science fair where if you did not receive one of the top three awards, judges would pass out an honorable mention to make you feel better.  Are Republicans giving the President too much credit for just participating?
