Health Care Debate Is Not Over

Today, Thursday, May 16, 2013, the House will vote for the 37th time to repeal The Affordable Health Care Act. While this vote might appear as routine to many Republicans, this event creates an opportunity for 30 Republican Freshman to finally fulfill a campaign promise. In a recent US News and World Report article, Freshman Congressman Ted Yoho stated, “It is a huge vote. We ran to repeal Obamacare. It sends a great statement back to our district to back up what we ran on.” Congressman Yoho beat Congressman Stearns, a 12-term Republican incumbent, with the promise that he would vote to repeal the Affordable Health Care Act and curb the rapidly growing national deficit.  For many Republicans,  this is an opportunity to fulfill a campaign promise before heading into the 2014 election cycle.
