Minimum Wage Increase Backfires

According to a recent CBO (Congressional Budget Office) report,the forty percent minimum wage increase, supported by the President, would produce a loss of approximately 500,000 jobs by 2016. The report also states that the increase in salaries will affect only 900,000 current minimum wage workers, not the millions as some have stated. Creating a precipitous rise in the number of jobless middle-class Americans is clearly not the way to propel our sluggish economy forward.
