ObamaCare Takes On Businesses

As if businesses are not already strapped, ObamaCare is predicted to increase business costs $5,000 per employee. According to a recent Free Beacon article, “Obamacare will cost large companies between $4,800 and $5,900 more per employee and add hundreds of millions to their overhead, according to a new survey.” The survey conducted by the American Health Policy Institute questioned 100 large businesses regarding “what costs they expect to incur from Obamacare over the next decade.”   The survey revealed that businesses expect additional health care law mandates, fees, and regulatory burdens to translate into increased costs of approximately 4.3 percent by 2016 and 8.4 percent by 2023.  Based on the results of this study, all large American employers will, in the next 10 years, have to absorb a whopping $151 billion to $186 billion in Obamacare costs.  With an economy already struggling and a middle class continuing to decline, many question the value of burdening businesses with such escalating costs.
