Wisconsin GE HealthCare May Cut More Employees Due To New HealthCare Law

Once again, another company is struggling under the burdensome weight of the new healthcare law. GE HealthCare, a global company that maintains facilities in Waukesha and Milwaukee, Wisconsin, suffers dwindling revenue as the Obamacare Pac-Man continues to eat away at its profits. According to a recent Business Journal article, “for the six months ending June 30, GE Healthcare’s revenue declined 1 percent, to $8.68 billion from $8.78 billion. The segment profit for the first half of 2014 was down 2 percent, to $1.3 billion, compared with $1.32 billion in the first half of 2013.” The decline in revenue has led to several layoffs and could potentially lead to more. With such devastating consequences, Obamacare continues to demonstrate its potential to thwart the growth prospects of not only the healthcare industry but of the nation’s economy as a whole.
