Only 4 Votes Needed To Pass Veto-Proof Keystone Legislation

The outcome of a major showdown between the President and Congress hinges on only four votes. According to Fox News, “The Senate still needs four votes to pass veto-proof legislation to build the Keystone XL oil pipeline, Sen. John Hoeven, who sponsored the legislation, said Sunday.”

The President’s argument for not signing the legislation is simple – “…..it takes the decision about Keystone away from the executive branch.” As states clear the path for rolling out the pipeline and members work diligently to ensure environmental needs are met, many Americans stand by in hope that this highly coveted job-creating bill will eventually see the light of day.
