Why the U.S. economy lags: It’s the politics, stupid

The economic outlook for the current U.S. economy appears to look fragile due to the weaknesses of U.S. politics. Harvard professors Michael Porte, Jan Rivkin and Mihir Desai wrote  a report called,“Problems Unsolved and a Nation Divided.” They stated, ” “We believe that the nation’s political system has now become America’s greatest competitive weakness, and that the situation continues to deteriorate.” Combined with America’s decline in the ability to compete globally among the top economies of the world, leads to inefficient numbers. It is imperative that the United States makes improvements in its political institutions and boosts its international trade for a potential positive outlook in the economy.
