America’s economic recovery from the detrimental 2008 recession has left many pessimistic about the overall growth and stability of our economy. The average household income is down $4,000 over the past seven years, as well as an increase in those living in poverty from 39.8 million in 2009 to 46.7 in 2014. It is clear that since President Obama won the presidency, his policies are not helping the American people. In the words of Representative Dave Brat of Virginia, “America needs an economic recovery from its recovery.” We need relief and a clear direction to foster an environment where small businesses and the American dream can thrive. Brat’s advice is to encourage entrepreneurship, innovation, and small business investment. America is in need of a leader who can take initiative and get this country back on track.
