Getting economy moving again a Herculean task for Clinton or Trump

The economic state of the U.S. continues to fall short of our hopes and dreams. Last week, the U.S. government reported the growth for the U.S. economy at 2% for the third quarter of 2016. This is not an abysmal growth rate, but it is much lower than the historical average of 3.3% a year. As Jeffry Bartash, a reporter for Market Watch, points out, there is a long list of problems facing certain sectors of the economy. From the strong decrease in manufacturing, a dip in retail growth, and an overall skills gap among unemployed workers have all helped lead to this unfortunate slow recovery. In terms of this election cycle, whoever takes the White House will have an uphill battle to restore faith in the economy at home and abroad.
