Financial Health Improved for Most Americans in Recent Years, Fed Survey Says

Most Americans are better off financially then they were a few years ago, but those with higher education tended to show better improvements. In the Fed’s 2016 Survey of Household Economics and Decisionmaking found that 70% of respondents said they were living comfortably, which is an increase from 62% in 2013. The survey showed that more Americans are saving and putting money into retirement. This may be a reflection of the improving economy and stronger labor market.
