GOP presidential candidate and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney announced today that he supports the Cut, Cap and Balance Pledge offered by Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC). The Governor went on the offer his support for a Balanced Budget Amendment currently being pushed by all 47 Senate Republicans. A Washington Post article reports “the requirements of the balanced-budget amendment proposal … are stringent, mandating a balanced budget for each fiscal year, calling for an 18 percent cap on the ratio of spending to GDP and requiring any tax increase receive a two-thirds-majority in both chambers to pass.” Read the entire Washington Post article.
