House Passes GOP Budget

House Passes GOP Budget

Paul Ryan’s (R-WI) 3.5 trillion dollar budget proposal passed through The House of Representatives with a vote of 228 to 191.  The Ryan plan cuts tax rates and takes a new approach to fixing Medicare.

With this bill having a conservative philosophy and there being no attempts from either party to cooperate, the bill will surely face rejection from the Democratic majority Senate.  The budget proposal fights the U.S. deficit by saving 5.3 trillion dollars over the next decade but some Republicans say that is not enough to dig ourselves out of the current dept and Democrats say that the cuts are too much.

John Boehner (R-OH) commented on the bill saying it sets “a course that’s sustainable not just for our generation, but for our kids and our grand kids.”
