Is there a deal finally being made in Washington, DC? For the sake of millions of taxpayers, let’s hope so. According to a Reuters article, House Speaker John Boehner and President Obama have started discussing a potential deal.
U.S. Representative Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) stated, “There’s nothing agreed to. They are just beginning to talk.” McCarthy is the House Republican Whip.
Reuters went on to say “[Congressman] Van Hollen said Republicans were coming around on the tax hikes, and said there was a good chance of resolving that soon.” Congressman Van Hollen is the senior Democrat on the House Budget Committee.
