The overworked and underpaid middle-class is once again required to pay for yet another bill it cannot afford. The U.K. Daily Mail reports “counties in six states are enrolling inmates in Obamacare health insurance plans as a way to shift costs to the federal government – a tactic that’s legal but frustrating for some.” While the Affordable Health Care Act does prevent full-time inmates from enrolling in the program, it does, however, provide a loophole allowing those awaiting trial to participate in the healthcare benefits. This highly controversial technicality thus allows counties to shift costs from the local government to the federal government “when they [sic] lengthy hospital stays are required.” Once again Americans are left wondering if this new law will ever get better.
