Former President Clinton Reacts to Americans’ Opinion On The Economy

While the latest numbers suggest that the unemployment rate is declining, many Americans, when polled, still believe that the President is not doing enough for the economy. Perhaps the lack of support for the President is due to the amount of people who have simply given up on finding a job or the fact that many people still remain underpaid. Either way, many Americans still do not buy the new unemployment numbers. According to Real Clear Politics, former President Clinton reacted to the prevailing sentiment when at a gathering in Conway, Arkansas he noted, “‘the economy is coming back but nobody believes it yet because you don’t feel it.’”

As is always the case, perception is reality, and this is a reality with harsh consequences for too many Americans. The November elections will provide Americans with a forum to register their beliefs on just how robust or anemic the economy really is. Stay tuned.
