Health Care Deductibles Set To Rise

As many economists predict an increase in health care premiums, new polls also predict sharp increases in deductibles. A recent Fiscal Times article points out that HealthPocket, a company that analyzes and compares health care policies, evaluated recent health care numbers and determined “that the average deductible for 2015 Bronze-level policies, the lowest tiered plan, is about $5,181 for individuals— up from $5,081 last year and about four times the IRS’s benchmark for high-deductible plans. “

As Americans plan their budgets for the new year, many will find, much to their dismay, that health care costs will take a much bigger bite out of their annual incomes.
