Turkey Time – 3,415 New Regulations On Businesses

Well, it’s that time of year when the President entertains Americans with the ceremonial pardoning of the holiday turkey. Many Americans, particularly those who own businesses, wish the President’s pardoning mood would extend into the area of government regulation. Quite the contrary, the President is expected to unload massive amounts of additional regulation on the backs of businesses. The Daily Caller reports that the President will be using this holiday season to rollout 3,415 new regulations on businesses. The article states, “While Americans are focused on what delicious foods they’re going to eat for Thanksgiving, the White House is focused on releasing its massive regulatory agenda — marking the fifth time the Obama administration has released its regulatory road map on the eve of a major holiday.”

Unfortunately for American businesses, the current administration seems to take delight at carving away the ability of businesses to thrive in a laissez-faire environment. Given the results of the mid-term elections, perhaps the President would do well to grant American voters the same level of consideration as his holiday bird.
