Op-ed: Hatch should fix H1-B visa program instead of expand it

H1-B visas are allowing corporations to replace skilled, American workers with cheaper and often temporary immigrant labor. Such is the case at Disney “where hundreds of information technology workers were laid off and replaced with H-1Bs. But first, the U.S. employees were required to train the H-1B workers who would soon be sitting at their desks, doing their jobs.” While many argue that H1-B visas allow for companies to hire workers for largely undesired jobs, they also are putting countless American workers out of work.
