The Federal Reserve released its most recent report which catalogues economic conditions in various regions around the country earlier this week. The so-called Beige Book, which compiles anecdotal accounts of economic hardships and surges from across the U.S., describes an economy that is neither stuck in stagnation or one that is booming as we all would hope. The Beige Book notes a recent trend throughout the last year where economic growth has occurred slightly, in modest increments, but the slow progress has made economists, business leaders, and the everyday American citizen wary of our current recovery. The Federal Reserve is finding itself quite perplexed in regards to the direction of the U.S. labor market and whether or not interest rate changes are likely in the near future.
