One Segment of the U.S. Economy is Flourishing

Home prices in the United States are only 2.1% shy of their 2006 peak before the housing crash that descending America into a recession it is still recovering from. All signs point to the housing market becoming stable as home sales are on pace to hit 554,000 this year, the strongest year since 2008. However, many are not on the positive end of this housing stabilization. First time homebuyers, many of whom are millennials with large amounts of student-loan debt, are finding it difficult to break into what many are calling a “seller’s market”. Overall, the fact that the housing market is getting close to it’s pre-housing bubble numbers is refreshing to those who are worried about the current economic recovery.
