The Federal Reserve’s second highest ranking policymaker said the U.S. Economy is close to its target numbers in terms of employment and the overall economic recovery. Stanley Fischer, the Vice Chairman of the Federal Reserve, stated that this year’s job growth is “more than enough” improvement for the labor market to continue to look promising. While speaking at this Aspen, Colorado conference Mr. Fischer did not mention interest rate hikes, but his comments are likely to fuel a debate about when such hikes could come into play.
