Obamacare takes first real step closer to repeal after Senate vote

In the early morning hours of Thursday, Jan. 12th, the U.S. Senate passed a budget resolution that will be used as a “vehicle” for the repeal of the Affordable Care Act. Senators voted 51-48 to begin the dismantling of President Obama’s signature legislative accomplishment. As Republicans are in control of both houses of Congress and the White House, the next objective will be for them to agree on an appropriate replacement program that minimizes the damage of Obamacare.
