Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin has said he does not support the separation of large investment banks. Mnuchin told the Senate Banking Committee that forcing a split would lead to huge problems in the financial markets. This comes following then-candidate Trump’s talks about reintroducing a “21stCentury Glass-Steagall Act.” It is unclear what direction President Trump will go.
