America’s infrastructure is showing signs of improvements. In 2000, 15% of the country’s bridges were listed as in poor condition. By 2016, that number dropped to 9.1%. States and local transportation officials are largely to thank for targeting bridges for safety concerns. Still, lawmakers are pushing hard to get an infrastructure spending plan through to the President’s desk.
