The Raleigh News & Observer reports that retailers are closing stores at an alarming rate this year compared to 2016. They state that “the culprit’s not the economy but shoppers whose habits have changed profoundly and permanently, as they shop online more and look for deals”. This retail struggle comes in light of the first-quarter reports of this year.
