The White House this week reaffirmed President Trump’s pledge to spend $1 trillion to implement a massive infrastructure program. Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein said that the United States needs to invest in infrastructure to keep up with countries like China. In the president’s budget proposal, the administration calls for $200 billion in federal spending over 10 years with the hope of attracting $800 billion in private funding for infrastructure projects, such as the proposal to privatize air traffic control. Goldman Sachs says it has raised more than $10 billion since 2006 for infrastructure programs on its website.
