U.S. Businesses Plan to Hire More as Tax-Overhaul Prospects Tantalize CEOs

Leaders of the U.S.’s largest companies plan to increase their employment, as management teams look forward to extensive rollbacks and optimism of a tax overhaul. “CEOs are sending a positive economic signal with their plans for increased hiring,” said Joshua Bolten, Business Roundtable president and CEO. “They see the progress that has been made toward creating a more favorable regulatory environment.”   President Trump would like to see a corporate tax rate of 15%, but many leaders are suggesting the figure is unrealistic. “So there’s a big opportunity on the table here for the administration and Congress. There’s also a risk to the economy if they fail to get tax reform done in a timely fashion.” Mr. Bolten Said.
