U.S. Industrial Production Increased Strongly in October

In October, U.S. manufacturing made a strong recovery in the wake of a severe hurricane season. Manufacturing accrued a one-month 1.3% increase. Hurricane catch-up was most likely responsible for this figure. “Manufacturing output is surging [and] is at the best level since the recession bottomed way back in June 2009,” said Chris Rupkey, chief financial economist at MUFG.
