China slaps retaliatory tariffs on American food

China has disclosed a volume of tariffs on American food imports in retaliation to the steel and aluminum tariffs by the Trump administration. There are 128 items of US origin that will fall under this tariff, including pork, fruit, nuts, and wine. China states this decision was made “in order to safeguard China’s interests and balance the losses caused by the United States additional tariffs.”
