New York Times reports Justin Muzinich as the top aide to Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin. This role has been vacant for the past year. Trump nominates Muzinich, a Wall Street veteran with a more moderate flare this week.
Muzinich is relatively young but comes with a lot of valuable experience. At 40 years old he played a key role in passing the 1.5 trillion dollar tax overhaul and instrumental to the passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. He also was a policy advisor under Jeb Bush, bringing some relevant political experience to the position. With an M.B.A. from Harvard, a J.D. from Yale and years of experience, there is no doubt Muzinich is qualified.
The appointment awaits Senate confirmation.
