The number of Americans filing applications for new unemployment benefits fell to a 49-year low for the third straight week. These low numbers haven’t been seen by economists since December of 1969. The Department of Labor stated that initial jobless claims fell by 3,000 last week alone. However, economists are concerned how Hurricane Florence will disrupt the market.
