The United States Government Accountability Office recently published a report exposing fiscal shortcomings of Congress’ budgetary planning. There are 148 programs that require long-term financial commitments from the federal government. The GOA states Congress should “consider improving recognition of these fiscal [commitments] in budget documents.” Read the full report here.
