The Trump administration continues to hold off on spending agreements and another government shutdown (plus a federal default) may be in our future. The uncertain path was made even more obscure when GOP leaders met to discuss budgetary issues and left out Democrats, whose votes “will be imperative to avoid a shutdown and an economy-shaking breach of the federal debt limit.” New funding legislation must be passed by the first of October to avoid another shutdown.
