On Wednesday, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin stated President Trump and Congress are trying to “scrape together” a budget deal in the hopes of avoiding another government shutdown. They are also reportedly trying to raise the US borrowing limit. If an agreement is not met in time, the White House will offer a “continuing resolution” to keep the government funded for a year, and the administration would also propose a one-year debt ceiling increase.
