Mulvaney: If Trump Could Pass Spending Bills, Federal Budget Would Be on Path to Balance

Fox News anchor Chris Wallace recently chided Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney on “Fox News Sunday”, pointing out that the Trump plan adds to the national debt, despite his promises to reduce it. Mick Mulvaney responded, “if President Donald Trump could pass spending bills, the federal budget would be on the path to being balanced and the deficit would be down”. He further remarked that even with a Republican House and Senate his first two years, his budgets were shot down. In the end, he claims, Congress is the one who spends money and “We are always going to spend more money when Democrats have a seat at the table” Mulvaney said.
